Sydney International Boat Show 2019
The time is almost here…Sydney International Boat Show kicks off in Darling Harbour on the 1st August and finishes the 5th August.
WHERE IT BEGAN…
Sydney International Boat Show began in 1968, celebrating 50 shows across various Sydney venues. Beginning at the HordenPavilion in Moore Park, the show has expanded and now calls the International Convention Centre (ICC) home. With the convenience of the Convention Centre being located near Cockle Bay Wharf, show goers are able to enjoy the show in the ICC and step outside and experience the rest of the show on the marina.
The voice of this spectacular event is The Boating Industry Association Ltd (BIA). Their aim in all of this is endorsing safe and recreational boating as a positive lifestyle for Australians. They encourage Australians to get onto the water by promoting wholesale and retail products and services to assist in marine operation both commercially and privately. The BIA also provides forums for discussions regarding industry needs, problems and solutions and stand to represent the industry in front of the Federal State and Local Government departments and agencies.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
There’s a lot to see at the show this year with an open air event on the deck of the ICC, where you can enjoy free trials of watersports equipment in the deck pools with an amazing view of the Sydney Skyline. Within the ICC, there are two levels of family friendly exhibitions to see to satisfy all boating tastes as well as the boats that will be covering the Marina. It doesn’t stop there: there’s the diving expo, electronic accessories, plenty of competitions to win and great masterclasses to attend.
However, not all the action is at the ICC…Darling harbour not only offers amazing views of the boats along the Marina but spectacular venues ready to feed all our boating fanatics and visitors. Our venues are open for lunch or dinner right by the water offering delicious seafood platters, award winning steaks, fine wines by the bottle and some cheeky desserts! This is great and convenient way to enjoy your Marina experience and make the most of your visit to the Sydney International Boat Show.
Nick’s Seafood Restaurant is also offering offsite catering with hot or cold canape packages as well as platter and beverage packages.
We’d love to see and hear about your experiences of the show this year! Tag us in your photos or write to us via our Facebook ‘Nicks restaurant and Bar group’ or our Instagram @nicksgroup.
