Enjoy the mesmerizing Lunar New Year Drone Show from 9pm on Friday 9, 16 and 23 February.

Lion Dancing

Catch the traditional Chinese Lion Dancing performances, where an ornately decorated lion moves to a vigorous drum beat to bring good luck and fortune for the Lunar New Year.

Saturday 10 February

  • 6pm – Starts from the Convention Centre Forecourt, down Tumbalong Boulevard and toward Darling Square
  • 7.30pm – Starts from Darling Quarter McDonalds, down toward the Village Green and ending at the Chinese Garden Forecourt
  • 8.30pm Starts at Cockle Bay Wharf, past W Sydney Hotel and IMAX Sydney, ending on the Convention Centre Forecourt

Saturday 17 February

  • 6pm – Starts at Pier St Underpass and ends at Darling Square
  • 7.30pm – Starts from Darling Quarter McDonalds, down toward the Village Green and ending at the Chinese Garden Forecourt
  • 8.30pm Starts at Cockle Bay Wharf, past W Sydney Hotel and IMAX Sydney, ending on the Convention Centre Forecourt

Jet Pack Water Shows

Get ready to be wowed! Visit Cockle Bay to ring in the Year of the Dragon with mind-blowing jet pack shows and dazzling fireworks.

On Saturday 10 February and 24 February, entertainers dressed in Lunar New Year themed costumers will fly sky-high on Cockle Bay. Get a spot near the water’s edge for the best views.

Dragon Boat Races

To mark the Lunar New Year, more than 3,000 paddlers will churn the water as spectators line Cockle Bay Wharf to watch the 12m long dragon boats battle it out. Feel your heart race in time with the on-board drummers as the fiercely decorated dragons slice through the water.
